Exciting
We are at an exciting place with several projects in the works. We have a couple of new properties in development and have picked up a new client that we will also be developing content for. This is in addition to our production on the Jackson Flat Documentary that we are producing for the Kane County Water Conservancy District where we are following Archaeologist as they reveal what has been discovered during the construction of the Jackson Flat Reservoir. We will be posting updated information in the next weeks and months as these projects solidify. |
Rendezvous
We will be attending the Fort Bridger Rendezvous this coming weekend to get some new footage for our Rendezvous Documentary. The goal is to take some time to get some final footage for the project before final editing begins. If all goes well, we will be wrapping up production by early 2011. |
The Jackson Flat - Documentary
In addition to our production on documentaries revolving around the Rendezvous and old Steam Trains, we are pleased to announce that we are also in earnest production on a documentary on the construction of the Jackson Flat Reservoir. What makes this project appealing and a good fit for IAP is the Archaeology surrounding the construction. Archaeologists on site have already found perhaps some of the oldest artifacts in the region. The purpose of the project is to document the historic finds in the area as well as preserve the history of the landscape, and the construction of a large water feature as it is developed. Chronicling the process will be a valuable historical resource to the community and historians in the future. This project will also provide the community with an up close look at the ancient history that is being excavated almost beneath their feet. We will be following the process over the next year and will have a final product availible sometime around this time next year. |

The documentary was co-produced by Roger Blomquist who teaches a historical documentaries class at UVU. The show also showcases the interviews and research of several students from that class. We are excited for our television debut. |
Press Release
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Locally Filmed Documentary Hits Store Shelves
Kanab, Utah – May 10th 2010 - Independent Adventure Productions, a startup production company has been bringing a little bit of the ol' Hollywood days back to Kanab with their release of Gunfighters: Living The Legend. Filmed in Kanab, this documentary takes a look at the gunfighters of the Old West and the weapons that made them into icons. It then follows the gunfighters, from the dime novel through the Hollywood blockbuster as he becomes legend. Most importantly, the film looks at the people who are working today to keep the idea of the Old West and the Gunfighter alive today.
A highlight of the show is the enactment of a gunfight that showcases local talent. The gunfight is described by the Director as one part Vaudeville, another part Hollywood and a dash of how it might have been.
The film was Directed and Produced by Nathan Riddle and filming and production work by brother Brian Riddle both originally from Kanab. The DVD is now available for sale in many local stores.
Independent Adventure Productions has a number of additional documentary projects in pre-production that are relevant to the area and will be filmed locally. Funding for these projects will be raised through DVD sales and through work for hire projects. That means the opening of video production services to area businesses and individuals who may have need of videography, editing, and sound work.
